HISTORY
Hinteregger family and the Sorgenhof
The Sorgenhof with its barn, firehouse, fields, meadows, woods and herb garden was first mentioned in a document in 1400. In 1983 the old, very devout farmer's wife of the traditional Sorgenhof bequeathed the farm to the church. When the church auctioned the Sorgenhof in 1983, the Hinteregger family bought it - and son Hans, received it as an inheritance. Three years later, Hans began to rebuild the farm. In 1991 he married Angelika and over the years their four children, Lukas, Anna, Eva and Jonas, were born. The Hinteregger family has always been aware that they are in a very special location and they want to make this unique natural experience accessible to families from all over the world. In 1986 the foundation stone for Urlaub auf den Bauernhof was laid and the first guests were accommodated. The guests were thrilled by the hospitality and the location at the foot of the Dolomites.
Little Farmer
The farm experience for children
Special emphasis is placed on raising children's awareness of nature. At Sonnwies, children playfully learn about the daily routine on our own organic farm and actively help out. Feeding animals, mucking out the barn, daily egg hunts, animal sponsorship, pony rides, tractor rides, hay hopping are all part of the program. Little artists feel especially at home during creative activities in the great outdoors, such as painting on the wooden easel. There are also all kinds of special activities in the gardens and in the forest: planting small beds with seeds, building dams or the nature treasure hunt. In the manufactory, children can help prepare typical South Tyrolean dishes, such as dumplings or Kaiserschmarrn, and enjoy them afterwards. In summer, fresh farmer's butter with cream from the farm's own mountain pasture is prepared. A special feature are also the endangered animal breeds, which live with us at the Sorgenhof - these include: Pustertaler Sprinzen, black nose sheep, black Alpine pigs, Villnöss spectacled sheep, ponies, alpacas, chickens and rabbits.
Farm to Table
Natural pleasure on the plate
The Sorgenhof Family Nature Culinary combines tradition and modernity, regional and seasonal in a food concept for the whole family. An important supplier for our cuisine is the in-house 1,200 m² organic culinary garden, which families can also explore and taste up close during guided tours with our gardener during the day. As a starter for dinner, our guests can enjoy homemade farm butter, homemade bread and a delicious wild herb salad bowl with vegetables straight from the garden. Special highlights are also our alpine picnic or cooking classes in our manufactory, where families learn how to prepare typical South Tyrolean dishes. Good things are so close.
WellBeing
Retreat and well-being
The special nature and pleasure experience is rounded off with relaxation in our water worlds with mountain views. Relaxation is provided by soothing yoga sessions in the private forest, easy hikes on the expansive Lüsner Alm or gentle e-bike family tours in the Dolomites. An all-round nature experience in the mountains for the whole family with pleasure, experience, and many retreats.
